Instrument building at ILSA is the study program of choice for those who want to establish themselves as professional builders. Annually confirmed by our jury members, we strive for high quality. For this reason, we receive students from all over Europe and sometimes further abroad.

Bowed instruments
After a few preparatory exercises, in the first year of the string instrument course you start to build your first violin.

Plucked instruments
In the first year of the Plucked Instruments program, you will learn the basic techniques by building a classical guitar.

The bowed instrument making course has an additional year of Restoration in which the restoration of stringed instruments is taught.
